ST. JOHNS GRAND
PRIX COMMITTEE
WORKS ALL YEAR

This community based committee works to build the St. Johns Grand Prix.
The St. Johns Grand Prix is in it’s 7th year as one of the largest events in the White Mountains. Each year, the Grand Prix Committee works to make it a larger and more exciting event for families.
The Committee has established an event that lasts 4 days each Labor Day Weekend. The 2006 event runs September 1-4 at the St. Johns Airpark. Professional AutoSports Inc., the promoter and sanction for the event has a 5 year agreement with the City assuring the event will be run through 2010.
The community based committee works under the auspices of Professional AutoSports Inc. to improve this event each year. They have added a Vendor Midway and a Race Car Parade. In addition, they have added a daily concert in the spectator area by the popular band, The Lakesiders led by Al Holt. Television coverage of the ASA-Speed Truck Feature race has been added.
Through the Committee’s efforts, Salt River Project Coronado Generating Station, NAPA Auto Parts and Golden Eagle Distributors have become annual event sponsors along with a strong group of local businesses.
The cost to attend the event has been held at $5 per day for adults. Children under age 18 get in free. This is a family experience event with top level Indy Cars, Stock Cars, Sports Cars, Sports Racers and Kart racers.
